Downsizing, or as I like to call it, Rightsizing, is about creating a home that works for you now - whether that means moving somewhere smaller or simply making your current home easier and more enjoyable to live in.

When should I start planning to downsize or rightsize my home?

I always recommend starting to plan your downsizing early - as soon as you start thinking about moving.  This will help you feel in control and ensure you're never rushed or pressured to make decisions because you run out of time.

How long does it take to downsize?

The timeline for downsizing depends on your circumstances, such as the size of your current and new home and the number of possessions you have. Starting early will give you plenty of time to make considered, confident decisions. However, with a tailored plan in place, it’s possible to downsize once your home is on the market or even after it has sold. I will create a customised schedule to suit your needs.

Can you help if I've already tried to downsize?

Yes! I can join you at any stage of the process to help with your downsizing or moving logistics. Having an extra set of hands and an impartial party involved will help you stay on track

How much does the downsizing service cost?

Costs for a complete downsizing service vary depending on the size and contents of your home and your location.  Get in touch to discuss your requirements and receive a tailored estimate.  If you would prefer to manage most of your downsizing yourself, I offer a 6 hour Downsizing Planner Service (£300).  Book a call to find out more.

Is your service confidential?

Yes my service is completely confidential. I am registered with the Information Commissioners Office (ICO) so everything I do is governed by Data Protection legislation. My Privacy Policy gives further information about this.

Are you insured?

Yes, I have professional indemnity and public liability insurance for my professional organising, decluttering and relocation advice service through Westminster Insurance.

Do I need to be present during downsizing sessions?

Yes, we’ll work together to downsize your home. I'll support you as you make decisions about what to keep or discard and guide you on the best ways to handleitems you don't need for your new home.

Do you take commission from services you introduce me to?

As part of my service, I may connect you with trusted professionals, including removal firms, clearance companies, and charity collection services. I do not receive any commission from these introductions. Your relationship with these professionals is direct, but I am happy to coordinate on your behalf.
